Dark Days, Bright Hopes
The short days of winter make training our dogs a real challenge. But despite the gloomy weather, we’ve still got a couple of major competitions ahead of us!
Kennel Club Agility Stakes Final
Willow has achieved a major milestone by qualifying for the prestigious Kennel Club Agility Stakes final, held at the London International Horse Show. This prestigious event is one of the pinnacles of dog agility in the UK.
Throughout the demanding agility season, competitors compete to earn a coveted spot in the semifinals. Our little Willow secured her spot at the semifinals back in April and continued her success by placing an impressive third out of 55 dogs in the September semifinals!
While Willow is celebrating her well-deserved success, we can’t forget to acknowledge Bay’s impressive performance. She also made it to the semifinals, showcasing her amazing agility and speed. Unfortunately, a minor error on the long jump obstacle cost her a place in the final. Despite this setback, we’re incredibly proud of Bay’s achievements and know that she has the potential to reach the highest levels of the sport.
Gold Rush
In addition to the Kennel Club final, we’re thrilled to announce that James and Bay will be jetting off to Germany to compete in the exclusive Gold Rush competition. This invitation-only event is a prestigious highlight in the dog agility world, attracting top competitors from around the globe. With over 500 applications vying for just 250 spots, Gold Rush is truly a cutthroat competition.
Known for its electrifying atmosphere, world-class judging, and legendary Saturday night parties, Gold Rush is more than just a competition; it’s an experience. The event brings together the best of the best, creating a unique opportunity for dogs and their handlers to showcase their skills.
This year, James has made the decision to take Bay. While Willow is a seasoned Gold Rush competitor, having won the event in 2019 and placing second in 2023, James believes that Bay is ready to take on this challenge. We’re excited to see how Bay performs on the international stage and can’t wait to cheer her on!
